Dear Friends!
I’m glad to meet you on the site of the Federal Centre for Animal Health (FGBI “ARRIAH”).
The FGI “ARRIAH” was established in 1958 and till 1992 it had been known as the All-Union Foot-and-Mouth Disease Research Institute (AUFMDRI). Of course, much has changed in the Institute since that time besides the name – the number of research laboratories has increased, new branches of scientific researches have appeared, the epidemic situation is being monitored, further prognoses are made and epidemics are eradicated. Researchers of our Centre are involved into treatment-and-prevention actions taken almost in all countries of the world, maintain close links with the leading veterinary centres of Great Britain, France, Poland, Finland, USA, Germany and the CIS countries.
The World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) has assigned two international statuses to the Institute: “OIE Regional Reference Laboratory for Foot-and-Mouth Disease” (1995) and “the OIE Collaborating Centre for Diagnosis and Control of Animal Diseases in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Transcaucasia” (1997).
About 1000 highly skilled specialists work in the Centre, including 20 doctors of science and 212 candidates of science. A great role is played by our young researchers, who are capable of performing laboratory tests at the level of the latest scientific developments, hold all the relevant information and possess methods of development of technologies competitive in the market of diagnostic products and vaccines.
Our Centre offers a wide range of possibilities. You can get more information about them on this site.
